A family in Kepong is pleading with Ah Longs (loan sharks) to leave them alone after their house was set on fire over an unpaid debt allegedly owed by their son, who later took his own life by jumping off a building in Johor Bahru. 

Loan Sharks Set Fire to Family’s Home After Son’s Suicide Over RM1,600 Debt

At a press conference organized by Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, the parents of 27-year-old He Wen Jie recounted the tragic events. They continue to face harassment from the loan sharks, who recently threw a Molotov cocktail at their home. 

The family urges the loan sharks to cease their harassment and let them live peacefully.
