KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 — Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (Putra) president Datuk Ibrahim Ali testified in the High Court, revealing he received a RM600,000 cheque from former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in May 2015. Ibrahim stated he believed the funds were Najib’s personal money and was unaware of its links to SRC International Sdn Bhd.

During cross-examination, Ibrahim explained that he sought financial assistance from Najib after facing personal financial struggles following the 2013 General Election. Najib reportedly sympathized with Ibrahim’s situation, acknowledging his sacrifices as an independent MP and BN-friendly figure, and pledged to help.
