The highly anticipated “Himpunan Rakyat Benci Rasuah” rally unfolded peacefully in Kuala Lumpur today, with authorities facilitating the event. Around 200 young protesters, dressed in black, gathered at 2:30 PM near the Sogo KL shopping mall before marching to Dataran Merdeka. The rally ended shortly after 4 PM with participants reiterating their demands for stronger anti-corruption measures.

Barricades and red tape cordoned off Sogo’s main entrance to minimize inconvenience for customers. A Sogo spokesperson emphasized that the precaution was to ensure the safety and comfort of patrons during the demonstration. One of the calls from the group is no house arrest for Najib.
