A 29-year-old woman was arrested on February 2 in Simpang Empat after Kangar Police Headquarters (IPD) received information about an incident. She is being remanded until February 5 for investigation after a newborn baby girl was found abandoned at a coffee shop on January 19.

The suspect admitted to giving birth in a bathroom and leaving the baby. Police seized a mobile phone, SIM card, scissors, bed sheets, and a burned placenta. The baby is receiving treatment at Tuanku Fauziah Hospital and is under the care of the Department of Social Welfare (JKM).
