Gucci Creative Director Sabato de Sarno Exits Amid Industry Slowdown

Gucci-owner Kering announced that creative director Sabato de Sarno is leaving the label after less than two years, amid a luxury industry slowdown. De Sarno, who succeeded Alessandro Michele in 2023, will be replaced soon.

Gucci’s revenues dropped 25% in Q3, contributing to a 3% decline in Kering’s shares. Analyst Luca Solca noted that De Sarno’s style did not align with Gucci’s exuberant image. 

Kering is undergoing a broad overhaul of its executive teams and will report financial results next Tuesday.
