Heavy vehicles will be banned during peak hours on select Klang Valley highways starting February 19 to ease congestion. The affected highways include the North-South Expressway (NSE), New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), and Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE).
Klang Valley Imposes Peak Hour Ban on Heavy Vehicles
The ban, gazetted by the government on October 21 last year, applies to Class 2 and Class 3 motor vehicles, excluding buses and those involved in cleaning, waste disposal, emergency services, and highway maintenance. The ban will be enforced from 6:30 am to 9:30 am and 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Monday to Friday, except public holidays.
