A couple in Johor Bahru has been living in their car for two months due to their inability to afford high rental deposits. Faiq Lubis Mat Jaya, 39, and his wife, Rohana Abu Bakar, 43, struggled after his roadside coconut and drink business declined. With rental deposits reaching RM5,000, they opted to live in their Proton Wira Aeroback, using mosques for bathing and relying on food delivery work for income. Despite hardships, Faiq remains resilient, saying, “We accept this test with an open heart.” Generous individuals have occasionally helped them, offering financial aid and food assistance.
