A local man fired four shots at a janitor in a shopping mall in Setia Alam, injuring his legs and buttocks. The suspect then fled to Level P2, hijacked a Perodua Ativa at gunpoint, and forced the driver to take him to the highway before escaping. Police received seven witness reports and identified the suspect as a man in his 30s with 11 prior criminal and drug-related offenses. He is now being hunted, and the case is under investigation under the Firearms Act 1971 and Section 307 of the Penal Code. Authorities urge witnesses to come forward with information.
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, said that the Seksyen 6 Police Station was informed about the shooting incident at around 10:50 PM.
