Once home to 10 traditional houses, only a few remain near the historic Siamese and Burmese temples on Burma Road. Nai Boon Phrom Sararaksh, 49, and his father Ninn, 85, are among the last residents, holding a garage sale to part with Siamese artefacts before their 180-year-old home is demolished. “This is painful, but we must move on,” Nai Boon said, clutching his grandmother’s glass jars one last time.
