Singapore’s Law and Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam has warned that locals must be psychologically prepared for a terror attack, as authorities detect more radicalised individuals. He cited recent cases involving a teenager, a housewife, and a cleaner, arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA). A radicalised student planning to attack Malays and Muslims was also recently detained.

While the Internal Security Department (ISD) actively counters such threats, Shanmugam stressed that Singapore is not immune to extremism. He urged citizens to stay vigilant, echoing the SGSecure message: “Not If, But When”, emphasizing the need for readiness.
