Govt MPs received special allocation of RM1.7m in Peninsular Malaysia, RM2.2m in Sabah, Sarawak

Government MPs have received special allocations from the prime minister, with RM1.7 million designated for constituencies in Peninsular Malaysia and RM2.2 million for those in Sabah and Sarawak. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, stated that these funds, provided from 2023 to 2024, supplement Malaysia’s five-year development plans. She emphasized that the disbursement follows existing policies and depends on the government’s financial capacity. Dr. Zaliha also noted that ministries and statutory bodies offer additional funding, meaning total allocations for constituency development surpass the Prime Minister’s Special Allocation.
