On February 13, a fire at a cannabis cultivation centre in Pattaya, Thailand, caused clouds of cannabis smoke to envelop the area. Residents and tourists experienced dizziness, headaches, swollen eyes, and giggling fits.

The fire occurred on the 2nd floor of a 4-storey building on Soi Welcome Jomtien. Firefighters controlled the blaze in 30 minutes.
The 40-year-old caretaker confirmed the cannabis was legally grown and that a short-circuited electrical panel likely caused the fire. Damages are estimated at 200,000 baht (RM26,270.22). No injuries were reported.
