Former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad accused Anwar Ibrahim of being a “serial liar,” claiming the prime minister selectively presented facts about his children’s wealth. Mahathir said Anwar repeatedly cited MACC chief Azam Baki’s statement that his sons had RM1.2 billion in assets but omitted that it was accumulated over 43 years, with a net worth of around RM450 million after liabilities. Denying any abuse of power, Mahathir stated, “Enough with the lies. What’s clear is that every time he opens his mouth, he lies.” He also dismissed Anwar’s denial of blocking foreign leaders from meeting him.
