Veteran DAP leader M. Kulasegaran has announced that he will not defend his position in the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) to pave the way for new leadership. The Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) stated that it’s time for younger leaders to bring fresh ideas to the party. Kulasegaran, 67, emphasized the importance of justice, human rights, and good governance, urging new leaders to honor past sacrifices. His decision follows similar announcements by Tan Kok Wai and Fong Kui Lun, who also stepped down to make way for new leadership.
