Dr Mahathir Mohamad has refuted Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s claims that his son is a billionaire with RM1.2 billion in assets. He clarified that the figure is inaccurate and refers to the combined assets of his two sons, Mirzan and Mokhzani, whose actual declared wealth is RM436 million. Mahathir questioned the basis of Anwar’s repeated allegations that they amassed wealth through government corruption, stating that the MACC has not provided any proof of wrongdoing. He also said for two years he is waiting for Anwar to bring evidence he stole money. Challenging Anwar to provide evidence, Mahathir said: “Maybe Anwar knows where these billions are. I don’t. If he can show me, I will give 100% to the poor.”
