Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim defended his frequent travels, emphasizing their importance in securing investments for Malaysia. He stated that as a trading nation, Malaysia relies on foreign investment to create jobs, boost the economy, and accelerate development. Responding to critics, Anwar highlighted his packed schedules during trips, which include multiple meetings from morning until night without leisure breaks. Malaysian Cabinet members undertook a total of 236 official trips abroad last year, according to Federal Territories Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa. She said the total expenditure for these visits amounted to RM44 million. Minister of Foreign Affairs Minister Mohamad Hasan with 39 trips, Anwar made 19 visits, and the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry Zafrul Abdul Aziz undertook 18 trips.
