If you’re planning to buy Kuih for Raya, be prepared for a potential price increase. Malaysian Kuih vendors have hinted at a 25% rise in snack prices due to the hike in coconut milk costs, a key ingredient.
Price of Kuih to Increase by 25% for Raya
Vendors at Pasar Kubang Pasu in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, have kept the price at RM2 for three to five Kuihs, but prices are expected to rise to RM2.50 during Aidilfitri.
Coconut milk prices have increased from RM10 to RM16 per kg since December 2024. Vendors may further raise prices to RM20 per kg during Ramadan.
