A 43-year-old medical officer was arrested after being accused of behaving indecently towards a 21-year-old female patient at a hospital in Timur Laut. The incident occurred when the victim sought a cardiac examination from the suspect. Timur Laut District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rozak Muhammad, confirmed the suspect’s arrest at his workplace at 9:30 PM on Wednesday.
Indecent behaviour
The suspect has been remanded for four days until March 2 for further investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. Police urge witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation to ensure justice is served.
