The customer loudly stated, “I don’t know how to speak Malay,” while the staff replied, “This is Malaysia.” The incident concluded with the customer walking away. Netizens add that Malaysians should be able to at least speak and understand Malay as it is our national language.

Others state service industry workers should be able to speak English as there could be foreigners coming to the store as customers.
