Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim urged the public not to condemn former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob amid the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) investigation into four of his senior officers. Anwar emphasized respecting due process and allowing authorities to conduct the probe professionally. The investigation involves RM170 million in cash, 16kg of gold bars, and frozen bank accounts. MACC chief Azam Baki confirmed Ismail was called as a suspect, with 31 witnesses questioned so far. MACC had said no one was behind the probe on Ismail. MACC initiated an investigation based on complaints and information received without any external directives.
