Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed confidence that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will conduct a fair investigation into former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob over allegations of bribery and money laundering. Zahid compared the case to his own, where he received a conditional discharge on 47 criminal charges involving corruption and money laundering in the Yayasan Akalbudi case. “I hope the same will happen in court (for Ismail’s case),” he was quoted as saying. The investigation involves four senior officers linked to Ismail, while Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim urged the public to allow due process without making premature judgments.
