He emphasized the importance of financial discipline, stating, “We should live within our means—if we can afford a Xiaomi smartphone, we shouldn’t try to buy an iPhone.”

He also stressed adherence to loan deduction regulations and encouraged financial counseling for those in difficulty. Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Malaysian Department of Insolvency pointed out that a “show-off” lifestyle is a key factor in financial troubles among young people.
