Speaking at the National Veterans Club dinner in Bukit Mertajam last night, Lim rebuffed Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s claim that his era has ended, stressing DAP’s independence. The remarks follow Zahid’s jab earlier this year after Lim criticized Umno’s rally plans with PAS. Sources told Malaysiakini that DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke recently urged Lim to step aside as chairperson but retain his CEC role, signaling internal tensions as the party navigates its future.
