PETALING JAYA, March 10, 2025 – Jelutong MP RSN Rayer (DAP) has demanded the arrest of independent preacher Zamri Vinoth after he reposted an allegedly seditious comment about Hindus on Facebook, hours after its initial removal. Rayer accused Zamri of inciting racial and religious tension by linking kavadi rituals during Thaipusam to drunkenness and a 2018 temple riot fatality. The post, restricted in Malaysia by Facebook at the MCMC’s request, followed backlash over Era FM hosts mocking the ritual. The DAP MP urged police to act swiftly, saying, “Zamri is not above the law,” as tensions rise.
