LHDN Income Tax Over One Million Individuals Receive RM2.73 Billion in Full Tax Refunds

The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) announced a record-breaking direct tax collection of RM184.805 billion in 2024, the highest in Malaysian history. This represents a 0.80% increase from 2023’s RM183.34 billion.

The achievement was celebrated during the 29th HASiL Day in Cyberjaya, officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The Prime Minister commended LHDN, emphasizing the importance of tax collection in funding fiscal reforms, targeted subsidies, and progressive taxation. 

Strategic enforcement measures contributed to higher compliance and increased revenue. Anwar urged individuals and corporations to fulfill their tax responsibilities to support Malaysia’s growth and economic prosperity.
