KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 – Former DAP assemblyman Satees Muniandy has urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate alleged vote-buying ahead of DAP’s central executive committee (CEC) elections this weekend. Satees Muniandy said the anti-graft agency should not turn a blind eye to the allegations.
Vote-buying claims
Satees cited claims that delegates were offered cash as “travel allowances” and five-star hotel stays to secure votes. DAP organising secretary Steven Sim denied the allegations, stating that an international firm was overseeing the election process for fairness. “I have full confidence in DAP’s values, in our delegates, and our members that such things will not happen,” Sim says.
