Kuala Lumpur – UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr. Muhamad Akmal Saleh expressed gratitude after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim implemented a proposal by former PM Datuk Seri Najib Razak to aid Sapura Energy Berhad (SEB). Two years ago, Najib suggested Petronas take over SEB and secure a government-backed loan. Anwar recently approved a RM1.1 billion loan—clarifying it’s repayable, not a bailout—following a forensic audit. “Alhamdulillah, after two years, PMX acted on this,” Dr. Akmal posted on Facebook, thanking Anwar for saving the national company and Najib for the idea. He also urged transparency on the audit and punishment for any misconduct.
