Dr Mahathir Mohamad is constantly under attack for alleged bailout of companies during the economic crisis that led to the dawn of the now dead reformasi movement. The opponents to Mahathir cried to the sky that he bailed out his son etc. Now in power, the reformists are bailing out big companies, and Mahathir is turning around saying, perhaps with sarcasm, that the bailout of big companies is good as it saves jobs etc. Nevertheless, Anwar has hit back at critics of the government’s RM1.1 billion cash injection into debt-ridden Sapura Energy Bhd, stressing that the funding is to be exclusively used to repay vendors…He later said the top management of Sapura would be fired.
