Retailers Must Conceal Tobacco Products by April 1 Under Act 852
These items must be stored in closed cabinets, ensuring they remain hidden from customers. Enforcement follows a grace period granted by the Health Ministry since the Act’s October 2024 implementation.
Violators face fines of RM500 to RM300,000 or possible jail time. Advocacy sessions have prepared traders for compliance, while authorities aim to crack down on disguised smoking products and safeguard public health, especially protecting minors from exposure.
