
In the DAP central executive committee (CEC) elections held on March 16, 2025, at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Selangor, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo topped the list with 2,785 votes. Incumbent secretary-general Anthony Loke secured fifth place with 2,508 votes, while chairperson Lim Guan Eng dropped to 26th with 1,719 votes, a significant fall from his previous 8th position, met with audible disappointment from attendees. Lim Hui Ying, Guan Eng’s sister, narrowly missed the 30-member CEC, placing 31st with 1,573 votes, while Ngeh Khoo Ham took 30th with 1,584 votes. Notable exclusions included Teresa Kok and Lim Lip Eng, alongside newcomers like Syahredzan Johan, Young Syefura Othman, and Yeo Bee Yin who made the cut. Of 3,342 delegates voting (79.5% turnout), 3,326 votes were cast, with 296 spoiled and one unreturned.
