A 74-year-old recently lost millions in such a scam. Phone scams, another prevalent crime, target vulnerable individuals with elaborate schemes. Ramli advises caution, noting legitimate authorities never make multi-step calls.
Commercial crimes, often cyber-enabled, are increasing, especially in urban states like Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. JSJK made 23,000 arrests last year, highlighting their efforts to combat these issues.
