Gemas-JB Double Tracking to Transform National Rail Connectivity
The project completes the KTMB Electric Double Tracking on Peninsular Malaysia’s west coast, linking Johor Bahru to Perlis. The 192-kilometre track, which reduces KL-JB travel time to 3.5 hours, will operate at up to 160 km/h with 22 daily trips.
Segamat station is operational, with Labis, Kluang, and JB stations opening by September. This infrastructure upgrade is poised to enhance Johor’s competitiveness and bring significant benefits to the state and its residents.
