Umno leader thinks DAP is in decline and the recent party polls explains why

PETALING JAYA, March 18, 2025 – Umno’s Puad Zarkashi predicted a decline for DAP, likening it to MCA’s fading influence as a ruling party. In a Facebook post, the Supreme Council member said DAP’s performance in government is under scrutiny, with its members judging the party’s hypocrisy. He highlighted DAP’s recent CEC elections, where heavyweights Loke Siew Fook and Lim Guan Eng saw reduced support—Loke dropping from third (1,625 votes) in 2022 to fifth (2,508 votes), and Lim plummeting from eighth (1,311 votes) to 26th (1,719 votes). Veteran Teresa Kok failed to reach the top 30, signaling internal discontent amid DAP’s shift from opposition to power.
