Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli warned of potential turmoil within the Unity Government as he confirmed his bid to retain the PKR deputy presidency in the May 24 party elections. Rafizi said not contesting could spark internal conflicts at a critical time, stressing, “If someone like me were to say I’m not interested (in contesting), it would create too much drama.” The Pandan MP, who won the No. 2 post in 2022 said: “I don’t think the public wants to see too much drama from any political party. We should focus on the possibility of achieving high-income nation status by 2028.”
