Speaking after a Putra iftar event in Kuala Lumpur, he argued that his research reveals the Act’s hidden sting: rising taxes and costs that Malays and the poor can’t bear. “They’ll have to move to cheaper rural areas,” he said, stressing that Malays should not be pushed from urban homes they deserve. Despite Anwar Ibrahim’s assurances of fair compensation and re-ownership, Razaleigh fears the URA will uproot Malays, clashing with their right to city life.
