Former Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has quashed persistent social media rumors claiming he and 13 other Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs withdrew support from the Unity Government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Speaking to Sinar Ahad, he dismissed the claims as old and baseless, reaffirming BN’s unwavering commitment, evidenced by all 30 BN MPs backing a confidence motion and government bills. Ismail Sabri hinted at possible malice behind the rumors, aimed at tarnishing his image and sowing discord within BN. He addressed the issue to end the speculation, stressing his loyalty to UMNO and the government. Ismail is also being investigated as a ‘suspect’ in a case where RM170 million is said to have been seized from safe houses belonging to aides (no idea if they are former or current).
