An elderly vendor in Port Dickson, protested by slamming his petai (stink beans) to the ground after enforcement officers told him to stop trading on his motorcycle.

Selling petai and pucuk ubi (cassava leaves) to fund his wife’s cataract surgery, he relies on stock from indigenous suppliers. Despite receiving RM500 monthly aid, he avoids troubling his children for support. 

The Port Dickson Municipal Council later granted him a temporary trading license, de-escalating the situation. He expressed regret for his anger during the incident but appreciates the council’s swift resolution and hopes the matter will not escalate further.
