SINGAPORE, March 24, 2025 — The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has urged Singaporeans to rethink non-essential travel to Johor as Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints buckle under heavy traffic. Since the March 14 school holidays, queues have swelled, with wait times exceeding two hours, worsened by a monsoon surge dumping rain since March 19. Flood risks and accidents have snarled roads, with wet weather expected until March 21. ICA reported tailbacks from Malaysia clogging Woodlands on March 21, advising motorists to avoid queue-cutting and plan for delays. Travellers are urged to monitor updates and brace for a soggy, slow journey.
