At the groundbreaking ceremony of the Madani Mosque in Masjid India, Anwar Ibrahim hailed the project as a “victory” after years of delay, following the relocation of the Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman Temple 50 meters away. He emphasized that this triumph stemmed not from arrogance but from showcasing Islam’s wisdom, strength, and nobility.
“Our victory is because we demonstrated compassion, justice, and good character—not cruelty or hatred,” Anwar said.
He rejected any policy of division. He added that the mosque, named “Madani” after the Arabic “deen” (way of life), reflects his administration’s commitment to a civilized, principled society.
