The adopted child of Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim, affectionately called Ruslina, reportedly suffers from depression after being cyberbullied on TikTok. The harassment stemmed from a supporter of a rival party, who mocked Steven for allegedly not aiding Ruslina after an accident, claiming Permatang Pauh MP Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan stepped in with a RM100 donation instead. Ruslina’s father, Rusli Ahmad, a security guard, said the public criticism caused his family emotional distress, especially as Ruslina remains bedridden. Humiliated, Rusli returned Fawwaz’s donation. Though the TikTok user deleted their account, Rusli plans to pursue legal action against them.
