SUBANG JAYA, April 5 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, today presented RM1,000 cash donations to 308 heads of households affected by Tuesday’s gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights through the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation. The handover took place at the Putra Heights Mosque, a temporary shelter for some victims, following the king’s 40-minute visit to the blast site, which left a 10m-deep crater. The eight-hour blaze damaged 235 premises—87 deemed a total loss—and 399 vehicles. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim earlier pledged RM5,000 for destroyed homes and RM2,500 for partial damages, with relocation plans underway.
