An 18-year-old woman in China, Yang, began living in her office toilet due to financial struggles. Paying only RM30 a month, she transformed the six-square-meter space with a foldable bed, curtain, cooking tools, and clothes rack to save costs.

Yang earns RMB2,700 monthly and opted for the toilet over unsafe alternatives. Despite cleaning the facility daily, she maintains it remains odour-free. 

Her boss, Xu, plans to relocate her to a renovated office room. Yang’s decision reflects the difficulties of independence and highlights the creative lengths individuals go to manage living expenses in challenging circumstances.
