SHAH ALAM, April 08, 2025 – The gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya on April 1 caused RM65.4 million in residential damage, affecting 437 homes, according to Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department reported 81 houses razed, 81 partially destroyed, 57 impacted but unburned, and 218 unscathed. Swift action saved RM285.9 million in property. Inspections expanded to 325 square metres, with 151 homes deemed safe for return. Deputy State Secretary Datuk Johary Anuar leads recovery efforts. Only 20% of affected students attended school, prompting MBI Selangor to donate RM500 each to 265 students.
