New: 56 individuals questioned on Putra Heights fire

SUBANG JAYA, April 9, 2025 — Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has refuted online claims of concealed fatalities in the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion on April 1, calling them baseless. Speaking at the incident site today, he urged the public to assist investigations rather than spread panic. The fire, which soared over 30 meters with 1,000-degree heat, left 38 of 146 victims in treatment, none in ICU, with no deaths reported. Hussein said 675 police reports and 186 witness statements have been recorded. Round-the-clock efforts to stabilise the area aim to expedite a technical report, with excavator retrieval imminent.
