Thai police arrested a 61-year-old Malaysian man in Nonthaburi on April 10, 2025, suspected of robbing a gold shop in Hat Yai two days prior. The suspect, apprehended en route to his son’s house, had fled to Bangkok by bus after stealing gold worth 9 million baht (RM1.17 million) using a pistol to threaten staff. Authorities seized gold jewelry, a pistol, and live bullets during the arrest at 6:30 pm. The man, who acted alone and used multiple identities to evade capture, is now in remand.
