Perak State Assembly deputy speaker Jenny Choy defended Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming against accusations of misusing government resources ahead of the Ayer Kuning by-election. Choy highlighted Nga’s announcements of development projects, including RM6.13 million for 33 projects in Tapah and RM2 million for market upgrades in Taiping, noting these occurred in areas with no pending by-elections. The announcement is made ahead of the Ayer Kuning by-elections. However, electoral watchdog Bersih criticized Nga’s actions in Tapah, which includes Ayer Kuning, as an unfair use of government resources, citing their 2023 “3C” guidelines that prohibit campaigning or conditions during official functions.
