In a Kuala Lumpur court, former Consortium Zenith Construction director Datuk Zarul Ahmad Mohd Zulkifli testified that his company’s win for Penang’s RM6.3 billion road and undersea tunnel project was no fluke. Attending exclusive 2011 meetings gave them an edge, he said during former Penang CM Lim Guan Eng’s corruption trial. Zarul claimed the state lost out, as he received two land lots despite incomplete project designs. Lim faces charges of soliciting RM3.3 million in bribes and improperly disposing of state land worth RM208.8 million linked to the project. The trial, under Judge Azura Alwi, resumes May 14.
