A housewife lost RM108,040 to a Facebook scam advertising a Toyota Hilux Vigo for RM29,600. On March 26, the victim contacted the scammer via WhatsApp, who requested multiple payments, including a downpayment and taxes.

The victim made 32 transactions into 10 bank accounts, but the suspect failed to deliver the vehicle, offering excuses instead.

Realizing the fraud, she lodged a police report at Sibu Police Headquarters. Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili confirmed the case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating. Authorities warn the public to exercise caution against online scams.
