In Kuala Lumpur, tributes flowed for the late Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, fondly called Pak Lah. His former adviser, Kalimullah Hassan, shared a heartfelt Instagram post, praising Pak Lah’s forgiving nature. “Malaysia may not have been kind enough to you,” Kalimullah wrote, recalling how Abdullah, aware of his own flaws, embraced Malaysia’s diverse tapestry, believing its multiethnic, multireligious fabric was divine purpose to elevate the nation. Despite criticisms, his’s gentle leadership shunned polemics, forgiving those who slighted him, leaving a legacy of unity and compassion.
