Detained chief editor and deputy chief editor of Sin Chew Daily are now freed

In Kuala Lumpur, the Chief Editor and Deputy Chief Editor of Sin Chew Daily were detained by police to assist in an investigation regarding the publication of an incomplete Jalur Gemilang illustration on the newspaper’s front page. National Police Chief Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed the arrests, stating that the individuals were brought to the police headquarters for further investigation, including the seizure of computers and related items. Both were released on police bail at 8:20 PM says Bernama. The case, which sparked 40 nationwide reports, is being investigated under the Emblems and Names Act 1963 and the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984.
